What Is a Doula (And What Do They Really Do)?

A doula is a trained professional who provides non-medical, emotional, physical, and educational support to families throughout the perinatal period. That includes pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the postpartum transition.

A doula is not a healthcare provider. I do not perform clinical procedures or replace your OB or midwife. Instead, I serve as an extension of care—your guide, advocate, and calm in the chaos.
